Purpose

The purpose of New Hope Preschool is to provide a carefully planned program of active and quiet play with qualified teachers to

  • help your child build a foundation for academic school work
  • help your child develop an awareness of the world around him through first-hand investigation of science, art, literature and music
  • help your child learn to function within a group, to form friendships, and to cope with the limits the group situation demands
  • help your child develop respect and self-confidence
  • help your child develop coordination and control of bodily activities.

While religion is not taught as a part of the curriculum, the children will be taught in a Christian atmosphere of respect and loving appreciation of other individuals and the world around them.

Preschool Organization

The school, a non-profit program of New Hope Church, was started in 1968 as Parkview Church Nursery School and has served many families of the community since that time. Its name was changed in 1992 after Parkview Community Reformed Church changed its name to New Hope Reformed Church.

A committee approved by the church sets the policy and philosophy for the school. Members include:

Dan Sewell, Pastor of New Hope Church

Marge Berei, Administrator/Teacher

Karen Sewell, Teacher

Linda Louis, Treasurer/Registrar

There will always be two full-time teachers in the classroom.

We are licensed to accommodate a maximum staff/child ratio of 1:12 and a maximum group of twenty-four children.
